We are what we do – Hear from our Award Winners about their Businesses!

In the form of a question and answer panel session, we learn of the experience of FLBC Award Winners, Emma Tuck of Bulldog Websites, Lizzie Skinner of Beanology and Richard and Trish will talk about Cotswold Woollen Weavers as well as other member business owners. The evening is about the relationship between small businesses and the people who run them.

We are often encouraged to learn ‘techniques of business’, which tend to come largely from the corporate world. While such techniques are undoubtedly useful, do we, perhaps, lose sight of a principal (and principle!) satisfaction of small business: identification with the business and the person that runs it… Village bakers, for instance, do not just make bread, but are ‘the village baker’… They are what they do, and that can be both a satisfaction and a strength. It can also be what makes the difference in a competitive market.
