Annual General Meeting
29th April 7.00 pm
All members are welcome to join us for our AGM which has a packed agenda! Last year at the usual time of the AGM the ‘lockdown’ was still new, we had no idea that it would roll on in to 2021. This year, now many of us will have had Zoom, Teams and a myriad of other online experiences, we have opted for a Zoom AGM. Whilst restrictions may be in the process of easing, your nearest and dearest are perhaps the first people you will want to see for real!
So it starts on Zoom at 7.00 pm with an introduction from our current outgoing Chair, Helen Webb.
We will cover the recent successful Awards which you may well have seen as they had over a 1000 views.
At those Awards you may have sighted the new and freely provided branding we are adopting, a package but together for us by last Year’s Business Person of the Year award winner, Allison Murray Design. There’ll be an update on that and we will also showcase the newly updated website which you will have hopefully seen online.
Behind the scenes the club has undergone some administration changes and is now run entirely by Volunteers.
At present we have a Chair, and a Vice Chair, Acting Administrators and a Steering Group.
Going forward we are looking to elect:
A Chair, A Vice Chair and a Treasurer with administration handled by the Officers and the Steering Group.
If you wish to put yourself forward for any of these volunteer positions – or just ask for details of what is involved, then please email us at email@example.com so we can add you to the nominees. We are particularly looking for additional Steering Group members to meet either virtually or in person to get involved and help plan club events and activities for the coming year.
We need to go through some legal changes in keeping with the times. Current Steering Group member, Simon Hersom of Hersom Whittaker will explain why this is necessary and there will be an opportunity to vote on the proposed legal entity of the Fairford & Lechlade Business Club.
After that it will be Nominees and election of the Officers:
Vice Chair & Treasurer
Nominees will be proposed and seconded as is the norm.
The Newly Elected Chair will close the meeting with an introduction and including details of the next planned meetings,
There will also be more information on the planned Summer Social for July! (All Chair Nominees will be given the details of the above.)
We aim to finish between 8pm and 8.30 pm so do feel free to bring a ‘cuppa’ or glass of wine to the meeting with you!
