Well done to all those involved in the Christmas Lights Turn on. Some excellent entertainment from Night Jar and the actual switch on of lights on the Christmas Tree with the shops lit up and the church bells ringing was a brilliant start to the festive season.
A big thank you to all the children and parents who joined the lantern parade yesterday. You did such a great job decorating your lanterns and the ones you made yourself were fantastic. Everyone who saw you walk past said it looked magical and the people in the square really enjoyed seeing all the lights slowly coming towards them. Please keep your lanterns so you can use them again next year. – Catherine Pritchard
I would like to take the opportunity to thank everyone involved in organising the lights and the event and especially Martin Lee and Ian Lindsay for getting the Christmas tree in the hole; Patrick Fyfe, Alick Kitchen and Neville for helping to get all the lights up around town and on the tree; all the ladies who helped make the lanterns and organised the Lantern Parade especially Catherine Pritchard; and finally the Lions and everyone else involved for their help and support. – Malcolm Pritchard
