Noah’s Ark Children’s Venture at Macaroni Woods

Many local residents have passed the sign for “Macaroni Woods” – some have visited Noah’s Ark Children’s Venture (NACV) which is based there. Noah’s Ark Children’s Venture was started 50 years ago by a group based in Lewisham who brought young, disadvantaged children for a camping holiday in the Woods, courtesy of Sir Thomas Bazley. Fast forward 50 years, and NACV provides residential and educational visits for disadvantaged children, carers, and families in our wonderful woodland site that is now leased from the Ernest Cook Trust. Our two houses, that sleep up to 51, and two mobile homes, provide a refuge from the stresses and strains of everyday life and facilities

Many local schools enjoy the use of our Forest School, and we are (re)opening Macvicar House, our sports hall and classroom where groups and visitors can use these facilities for meetings or get togethers. We do encourage Gloucestershire schools and youth groups to get in contact with us to find out about activities or facilities that we may be able to offer.

As a Charity, we value our local volunteers, giving freely their time and skills to support our work, and for those of you in the area who may be interested in offering us further support please do get in touch with us at admin@macaroniwood.org.uk. Likewise, please do consider supporting us if you are raising money for a charity – we make a difference. As one of our guests said ” a massive thank you appreciation and acknowledgement of all the work done behind the scenes”. The management team couldn’t put it any better!
